Herbal Medicine
Alone or combined with acupuncture, Chinese Herbal medicine can greatly improve your overall health and wellbeing.
Chinese herbal medicine works by promoting the
body’s own ability to heal and recover from illness. It can be used to treat acute
and chronic illnesses and degenerative diseases. It can prevent colds and
flu’s, diminish flare-ups from chronic conditions, delay and prevent symptoms
associated with degenerative diseases. It can also minimize side effects from pharmaceutical
medication, such as digestive upset, headaches, low libido and fatigue.
Chinese Herbal Medicine can be used for a variety
of complaints, such as digestive (IBS, acid reflux, constipation); respiratory (cough,
wheezing, bronchitis, sinus congestion); gynecological (fertility, irregular,
painful menstrual periods, PMS); low immune system, insomnia,
anxiety/depression and even stress.
The herbs are available in several forms: raw
(whole), powdered, pills, caplets, and capsules. Raw herbs require cooking,
while powdered herbs require mixing with hot water. All herbs are sourced from
reputable facilities that follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Allergic
reactions are rare and herbal prescriptions can be offered free of wheat,
gluten, soy, and dairy.
An individualized prescription is customized and created to match the
patient's condition and modified over time throughout the course of treatment. The
length of time required is evaluated on an individual basis. The cost for most weekly
prescriptions ranges from $20 to $35.
